I’m going to assume that you’re already in fair running shape, if not, please consult your doctor before attempting anything listed here.

This is what I did to prepare for my first 5k

 

1) Read this book: What Makes Olga Run, trust me, it will help you stop making excuses.

2) Do some Tabata Runs twice a week, Wed & Sunday worked best for me. Please, take your time with this.

3) Run at a comfortable pace for what the duration of the run will be

4) Basic calisthenics workouts, I was using this program from Calisthenics Kings

5) Diet? I was following this slow-carb diet, here’s the blog post or you can buy the book: The four hour body
